Hello friends ! Hope you are all having a great week.Presenting today; Ghugni, that I made some time back.

Ghugni or curried white dried peas is native to India and a very popular street food in Eastern India, especially in Bengal, Odisha, and Bihar. It is made with dried white peas and cooked with myriad spices. While the Northern India has its Chole, (Chickpea curry), Bengal has its Ghugni .
A typical Ghugni vendor on the streets of Kolkata, will add smoldering hot peas to a small leaf bowl, will mix it up with tomatoes, onions, coriander ,green chillies, powdered spices, tamarind water, lime juice & will serve you a delicious Ghugni .

Authentic Ghugni is made only with Motor or dried (White) Peas.Made of dried peas, this is an ultimate “healthy snack idea”.It is also serves as a perfect curry to go with most breads.Rich in protein, it can be a great food to meet up protien requirements among vegetarians & Vegans.
